evergreen itinerary
The Epicurean Estate

There is a particular type of traveler for whom a destination is first tasted, then understood. The Epicurean Estate is for them — the guest who travels with curiosity, appetite, and a reverence for ingredients. At Pelican Hill, the culinary experience begins not at a restaurant table, but in your Villa itself—the oversized kitchen so well-equipped that it feels like the coastal residence of a thoughtful gourmand.

Day one

the estate pantry

The Villa is your base for gastronomic operations. After being welcomed with chef-prepared bites and champagne, you’ll set out on a curated culinary adventure to gather provisions from the Newport Coast’s gourmet markets, artisanal bakeries, boutique cheese shops, and fish markets. Once back at your Villa, a private chef will help you transform your finds into a delectable lunch on the terrace.
As evening arrives, dinner is at Marché Moderne in Crystal Cove for a five-course journey through French cuisine—a reminder that great cooking is a conversation between skill and season. The night ends with a crafted cocktail at A Crystal Cove, a perfect palate reset.

Day two

CALIFORNIA IN SEASON
Begin at the Resort Caffe with espresso and house-made pastries, then drive up the coast to a local farmer’s market where culinary imagination thrives — delicate micro-greens, fresh-picked stone fruit, wild mushrooms, foraged herbs, and seemingly endless bounty. A pasta ritual awaits back at your Villa with your private chef. You learn to work the dough by rolling, shaping, and filling it; while the chef finishes a sauce bursting with the rich flavor of tomatoes ripened by the California sun.
The afternoon leads you to Lido Village. Wander through the boutiques and along the waterfront, then save your appetite for Selanne Steak Tavern, a beloved Laguna address where hospitality is generous, and plates arrive with a sense of occasion. By the time you reach Gelato Paradiso for dessert, you’ve earned every spoonful. The night closes at Pelican Grill Lounge — a nightcap toast to a day of culinary artistry.

Day three

COASTAL GRAZING
Your final morning is light and leisurely. A cappuccino at Ralph’s Coffee, a lox bagel from Boil & Bake, and a simple farewell to a weekend driven by flavor.
What makes The Epicurean Estate singular isn’t just the restaurants or the scenery, but how Pelican Hill enables you to live like a local chef — sourcing, tasting, experimenting, and savoring in a Villa that’s more atelier than accommodation. The best bites aren’t only the ones you order, but those you create in your own kitchen, with the Pacific stretching out in front of you.
