An abundance of lush lawns dot the landscape across the Resort; verdant spaces that subtly suggest you slip your shoes off and unpack the pleasure of a Pelican Picnic.
Delivered in a chic cooler backpack with a matching deluxe striped beach blanket, both of which are yours to keep, the picnic is packed with delicious items including fresh salads, thick sandwiches, and sweet and savory bites.
While the Event Lawn with the majestic Rotunda as its backdrop might first come to mind, we invite you to explore the other grassy parks that will feel like your own secret spot this summer.
BUNGALOWS
The Bungalows are terraced along four streets that have a corresponding numerical address: Via Assisi, which winds its’ way up a gentle grade, is where Bungalows in the 100’s are located, Via Bellagio is the 200’s, Via Capri is the 300’s and Via Duomo, which descends gently past the Coliseum Pool, is the 400’s.
If you follow Via Assisi up into the 100’s, you will find two locales perfect for a picnic. There is a teardrop shaped lawn nestled in a cozy semi-circle of Bungalows that few have discovered. Adjacent to the lawn is a slope of rich green that offers the perfect spot to recline in the shade after a leisurely picnic.
Across from the Coliseum Pool is one of the Resort’s most lovely lawns, tucked into an oval of Bungalows in the 300’s off Via Capri. Encircled by palm trees with a fountain at the far end, it’s a wonderful spot for a respite and absolutely delightful when paired with a picnic.
THE VILLAS
For guests staying in the Villas, there is a picnic location that is just waiting to be discovered. A rectangular lawn sits at the end of a grassy walkway between Villas 811 and 812. Overlooking the golf courses and the Pacific in the distance, the air smells of eucalyptus and sea salt. Bring a light jacket as a cool breeze comes off the ocean, perfect for warm summer afternoons.
There is yet another option for enjoying a Pelican Picnic, your Villa Terrace. Sweeping views and proper seating make this an ideal spot for guests of all ages.
