At Pelican Hill Golf Club, our entire property is irrigated with reclaimed water which can present challenges, including high sodium levels, high chlorine levels and others. The golf course received 20.92” of rain during the last rainy season which was great news for our turf areas, native habitat and landscape areas around the property. As a result of rainfall, our soils are “flushed” of the harmful elements that get built-up and our turf and plant areas respond very favorably. Most of California could see a wet winter this year — at least that’s what early forecasts are showing, as El Niño conditions push through the Northern Hemisphere. Weather experts officially declared El Niño in May, meaning a higher potential for above-normal precipitation for the Golden State.
